
Paul received his PhD in Physics in 2011 at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and prior to his current position with the Center for Computational Astrophysics at the Flatiron Institute in New York City, he held research fellowships in Paris and Italy. In addition to studying the earliest moments of the Big Bang, the emptiest places in the universe, and novel methods for detecting the first stars, Paul is the host of the popular Ask a Spaceman! podcast and YouTube series, a regular contributor to Science Channel's How the Universe Works, and author of the books Your Place in the Universe and How to Die in Space.
